The shutter is how much light is aloud in the camera. A higher shutter speed would be better for stuff like sports while lower shutter speed is more for things like waterfalls. The aperture is the area where light is coming in from. Stopping down/opening up talks about increasing and decreasing the f-stop value. Every time an f-stop halves the light in that area quadruples. The iso speed determines how sensitive the camera/lens is to light. A lower iso speed is best ebcuase with a higher iso speed causes a lot of noise in the picture.
